So, how did this all start?
Voyage Vet was inspired by a love of nature, travel, sailing, and the human-animal bond. There are few options available for owners who want technical and medical advice when transporting their pets internationally by sea or while travelling in remote areas. As a travel fanatic myself, I know how difficult it can be to navigate these scenarios.
I am an experienced small animal veterinarian and a travel addict. Luck and passion have meant that I have lived and worked in the UK, New Zealand (twice), Singapore, and Australia, and have been fortunate enough to travel widely elsewhere too. From making and updating pet passports and performing pet export checks in the UK, to dealing with imported animals in Singapore, and at various points moving my own animals internationally, I am well aware of how complex and stressful these processes can be!
My wife, our dogs and I spent a year full-time travelling around the South Island of New Zealand in 2022/23 in a 4x4 motorhome, so I also have a good deal of experience of what does and doesn't work from an off-grid pet healthcare standpoint.
When I'm not looking after animals or travelling, I love to sail, and am currently getting involved in the local racing series, trying to stop my dog Amos falling off of boats, and working my way up the Royal Yachting Association qualification ladder.
